Continental and English People in love

If a continental youth wants to declare his love to a girl, he kneels down, tells her that she is the sweetest, the most charming and ravishing person in the world, that she has something in her, something peculiar and individual which only a few hundred thousand other women have and that he would be unable to live one more minute without her. Often, to give a little more emphasis to this statement, he shoots himself on the spot. This is a normal, week-day declaration of love in the more temperamental continental countries.
In England the boy pats his adored one on the back and says softly: "I don't object to you, you know."
If he is quite mad with passion, he may add: "I rather fancy you, in fact."
If he wants to marry a girl, he says: "I say... would you?"
If he wants to make an indecent proposal: "I say... what about..."

How to make your relationship sweeter, deeper and more passionate

Know that love is a process, not a destination. Love yourself. Say what you feel. Ask for what you need. Reveal what makes you feel loved. Go easy on yourself. Celebrate the exceptional. Praise the ordinary. Do the extraordinary ordinary thing. Be a person of your word. Criticize only in private. Do the unexpected. Shower each other with kisses. Speak the love words. Say “ please “ and “ thank you “. Give more gifts. Ask if you can help. Listen for the meaning beneath the words. Walk a mile in your sweetheart’s shoes. Put your love on a billboard. Communicate with one another. Keep in touch. Take intimate time. Kindle the romance. Watch your tongue. Depart and reunite with loving gestures. Remember the early days of your love. Be willing to make the generous gesture. Tie up your emotional loose ends. Apologize. Apologize. Apologize. Play with one another. Celebrate with ceremonies. Reveal your fears.
Share your dreams. Trust one another. Console one another. Forgive one another. Hold each other in the light. Bow the mystery of love...

Love is patient and kind; it is [Image]not jealous or envious, never boastful or proud. Love is not ill mannered or selfish or easily angered. Love doesn’t keep record of wrongs; it doesn’t delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love never gives up. It always protects. Always trusts. Always hopes. Love never fails…

All girls and boys want to be attractive. While it is true that an especially pretty girl or handsome boy may be asked out more, being “datable” depends on things other than just good looks. Enthusiasm and a good sense of humor are much more important than beauty.

What do you do to attract the attention of your sweetheart?

Having a party

Makhlyaeva Dasha is writing...

Parties are about celebrating, socializing with others and having fun! We celebrate milestones in life like birthdays, weddings, passing exams, graduating from school, college or university with our families or friends. Being part of a group of people who are all celebrating the same thing is a good feeling. Going to a party is exciting. You feel good to be included. You look forward to yummy food, talking and playing with others and having fun. Everyone has their own special friends so if everyone in the class seems to be going to a party and you're not invited then don't feel too bad. Kids often go to the same parties because they have been to parties of the people in that group. It's a sort of 'pay back'. Often kids get invited to parties because their parents are friends. Maybe you could have a party when it's your birthday and then you can choose who you would like to invite.
Parties don't have to be big and expensive. Maybe you could have a joint party with another friend to cut down the cost. Having a group of friends to a pizza making party is a lot of fun, everyone has a good time cooking and then eating, and making your own is nowhere near as expensive as buying things. Some children have food allergies so you might have to be careful about the foods you choose to have (you might need to avoid peanuts for example) if any of your friends have food allergies.
Fruit cordial is a lot less expensive than soft drinks and there are some really interesting flavours around. Some kids may not be able to drink red cordials so have a choice of flavours. Parties should be all about celebrating with friends or families. So keep it simple, then everyone is able to enjoy the celebration.
Don't forget to say thank you to mum, dad or whoever helped to give you and your friends a great party.

What do you think about parties and celebrating?

When life is unfair.

If you are a friend
Then you're special too.

Here is the statistics from my survey about bulling arranged at my school:
78% of the questioned face bulling at school from time to time.
85% of the questioned think, that there is such a problem in our school, 15% of the questioned disagree. 31% ignore bullies, 31% do nothing if they face bulling; 15% try to stop it; 15% keep silence or just walk away; 8% laugh at bullyies.
92% of the questioned think, that it is necessary to fight against teens’ cruelty.
30% think that bullies must be punished; 8% think that it should be parents' problem; 62% of the questioned think, that it is better to ignore bullies.
So, nowadays this problem is very serious. Bullies feel free and comfortable if they can make others feel worse. People who are bullied should know that it’s possible to make real friends, and get the real respect of people. They need to learn about the good things in life.
Psychologists say if you are being bullied, don't give up - tell someone like a parent or a teacher. No one should be made miserable by other people and there are people who can help you. Just look for them.

What is your attitude to bulling?

Bullying - being unkind to others.

Konstantinova Olga is writing...

Everyone has the right to feel safe. But very often this right is violated. One of the big problems in and out of schools nowadays is harassment or bullying.
Being bullied happens to lots of kids (more than you would think) and it can be very scary. It can make some kids feel so miserable that they don't even want to go to school because teasing can be really hurtful and can change your life.
People often tease others because they feel powerful when others seem to be afraid of them. They like to be the centre of attention and they can't think how else to do it. They don't have many ideas about how to get along with others. They think that it's OK to pick on some kids.
People who are bullies when they are little kids may grow up to be worse bullies when they are big kids. Some bullies use words to hurt the feelings of their victim and some like to hurt people's bodies.
People who are sensitive, may cry or get upset being bullied. People who are bullied often feel scared, lonely and hopeless. These people may be bad at school work. They sometimes run away from school or home.

Don't deceive yourself!

Abashin Andrey is writing...

It is not a secret pupils don’t like even hate doing homework. It can be easy or difficult, big or small, interesting or boring. In any case, it takes a lot of time, energy, efforts.
So, many children use textbooks with homework keys to do the homework without efforts and thinking. In our class 95% of my classmates have such textbooks. Unfortunately 90% of pupils use them working at home. They forget about the importance of knowledge in future life and career. They do not develop their personality, their mind and thinking. They want only excellent estimation.
People! You learn for yourselves, not for teachers!
Your future success depends on your real work at school and home.
Don’t cheat!
Don’t use text books with homework keys.

About gamblimg

Alehashkina Maria is writing...

Gambling is an acute problem for Russia. Card playing for money has risen among male youth ages from 14 to 22. The increase is primarily among those young people who attend high school or post-secondary schools.
If you've been watching television or been to the mall lately, you may have noticed that poker has become a big trend. There are a lot of clubs of poker. They say poker can be compared to chess, because it is a very intelligent game. But if you play it for money it can lead to dangerous consequences. Problem gambling can strain your relationships, interfere with responsibilities at home and work, and lead to financial catastrophe. You may even do things you never thought you would, like stealing to get money to gamble or take money meant for children. Statistics and research name crime, theft, robbery, school and family problems, legal and money troubles, depression, suicidal thoughts and attempts as consequences of poker.
Many prevention experts believe that education about the risks and consequences of youth gambling is the main key in helping youth, parents, educators and communities in the solution of the problem. The young should be informed about the responsibility in gambling choices.
As for me, knowing about possible risks and dangers I am fond of playing a game of poker with my friends. But my mother is against my hobby and we have many conflicting moments. And I certainly understand why, but I can not stop playing poker.
So, I need your advice.

School uniform. To be or not to be.

Khranovskaya Diana is writing

It is not a secret, that the problem of a school uniform is discussed in every school. The majority of schoolchildren have negative attitude to wearing a uniform.
“-” Pupils do not want to lose their individuality, to hide it behind frameworks of a strict school uniform. Besides, some school uniforms are very formal looking and may take a lot of looking after. Skirts or formal pants are not good for doing sport or running around at lunchtime or recess. School uniforms are rarely fashionable. You can get fed up of wearing the same old things every day. You get into trouble if you don't wear uniform.
“+” But there are also good things about school uniform. You don't have to worry about what to wear on a school day. You know that everyone else will be wearing school uniform. You can save your 'good' stuff for nights and weekends. You can sell or buy second-hand uniform at the school. It promotes equality because everyone has to wear the same.
The majority of Russians 64 % consider that it is necessary to wear a special form of clothes at schools. The opposite point of view is shared by only 31 %. More often women are for the introduction of a school uniform - 77 %. 43 % of the interrogated are sure that the state decision on introduction of a school uniform at all schools of Russia should be accepted.
15 % of people think that it is a head of school or regional authorities (13 %) should decide to wear or not to wear a uniform. Only 12 % of the interrogated consider that parents should make a decision on, whether their child will learn in a school uniform.
What is your point of view?

Changing footwear at school

Alex Gints is writing...

It is evident that our health depends on our behavior. Certainly there are rules and obligations which we should follow to be healthy. And one of them is changing foot-wear at school. Every pupil knows that the second pair of shoes at school is a necessity. It controls the health of the school community. Just look at the picture and you can see the number of infections you bring to school every day. But, unfortunately, the pupils’ attitude to this obligation is different and very often negative.
I have conducted a research and asked 30 persons. In the interrogation I have seen a lot of contradictions. Everyone understands that absence of replaceable footwear harmfully influences on our appearance and even health, but a lot of the interrogated refuse to carry it.
60% of the questioned think that such footwear is not connected with our health care.
76% of pupils carry it not to spoil relations with teachers.
90% of the children think that it should be taken to school only in wet weather.
And only 56% of kids always carry and change footwear at school.
And what about you?

How do teens express their individuality?

Young people have a particular relationship with the whole world.  They want to express their individuality.  Many young people belong to youth cultures.  Some of them dress in a shoсking way to express their  identity.  They have brightly colored hair.  They rebel against the society or the older generation. They listen to aggressive music.  They reject everything.  Some of them are drug users or rock and roll fans.  Their behaviour and attitudes differ from social norms.  They do not conform to society’s standards and support a liberal attitude and lifestyle . They accept other people as they are.  They think they want to change the world for the best.  As for me, I think there are many ways express yourself.  For example, they can get good marks at school, be good at drawing, art and other kinds of activity.
There is the result of the opinion poll about subcultures:
1.                  Do you agree young people must show  their individuality as they want?
Yes – 83 %  No – 9 %  I don’t know -  8 %
2.       Are you fond of a very extraordinary lifestyle of teenagers?
Yes – 15 % No – 27 % I don’t know – 58 %
3.                  Are you fond of ways chosen by modern teenagers to express themselves?
Yes -  6 % No – 79 %             I don’t know – 15 %
People who meet “strange” teens  are not satisfied  with their lifestyle. They are afraid of these young people, especially old people with conservative outlook on life. Sometimes the young themselves hate such teens
How do you express your individuality?

What is hot

Levina Marina and Schetinina Maria are writing...
What is hot?
The word «fashion» means manner, way, style, shape, custom, habit. It is the way of  doing something, that is usual or popular at a certain time. Every fashion goes through three stages: at first it is different; it may be new and exciting, shocking and surprising. Then it becomes popular and the original idea is initiated. Finally it becomes boring and out of date as new fashion starts.
Fortunately, nowadays it is fashionable to travel abroad. It is trendy to be fit. It is up-to-date to be a skilled employee. It is stylish to be cheerful, sociable, and hospitable. It is up to date to live in a cottage in the countryside. Nowadays it is stylish to have IP-phones, notebooks, computers. It is hot to speak many foreign languages.
Unfortunately, nowadays the classic literature has lost its value and it is fashionable to read detectives, horrors, fantasies, the so-called light literature. Russian cartoons are not so popular and it is hot to see foreign cartoons, despite the fact that they have no sense very often. Nowadays it is trendy to see horror films and situational comedies, to be a fan of vampires.  It is trendy to eat fast food which, by the way, is not healthy. Nowadays it is fashionable to play computer games. It is stylish to have the latest model of a mobile telephone and be proud of it but not everybody can  afford it.
Fashion is always changing and on the move. Follow it but think it over before you choose fashionable things.
Hot things in our class.
It`s up-to-date to get only good marks at the lesson.  It is hot to play jokes at a person who has his birthday.  It`s fashionable to be active in everything.  It`s trendy to be the best class at school.
What is trendy in your company?
